Hmmm...I have not really posted anything of any real value (make your puns now, I can take
it! ^_^) to the FFML in a VERY long time. This is considering the fact it's very hard to
wade through all the mass Ranma fics that just keep rehashing the old concepts over and
over and over (and over) again (and VERY lamely I might add...but I'll save that rant for
my page); as well as the incessent argueing over symantics of what the FFML actually
means, as well as the lack of feed back we receive as authors of other types of fics
(unless they a. really suck, b. are done by well know authors who somehow have been
recognized as good or do the typical Ranma fics too, c. Ranma or SM fics of any type), and
various other crap I have seen (the Eternal Lost Lurker opened up a whole can o' worms
when he started the Transformers postings...if word gets out that the FFML is accepting
Transformers fanfics <They are anime...Japan kept it going long after it ended here, and
even have their own Beastwars series> the Transformers Fanfic comunity may very well
overwhelm this list...not that I mind any...heh), also what I believe to be very
questionable administration of this list...needless to say I have found the only use for
this list to be to see the occasional fanfic series come out that I have been following.
However this one hits a BIT close to home. So I shall endeavor to respond accordingly,
and I hope somewhat appropriately.

I will be the
first to admit that this piece of writing is crap... and deserves to be
MSTed... however, you did so for the wrong reason! Yelling at this person
for bad grammer, sure that's all good... but yelling at them because you
think they are pedophilic is another story.
Without commenting on this particular MST or the host fic at the moment:
IMHO a MST that primarily zings the host fic's bad grammar instead of
things like OOC-ness, weird plot concepts, or what have you is going to be
a *very* boring MST.
Actually for those of us who have done MST's one of the major things to comment on IS in
fact the screwed up characterization (if there is any any characterization at all), and
the very...well OUT there Plot concepts (which is not to say don't make shit up...some of
the best fics I've seen have stuff just made up, but they attempt to explain and fully
integrate, as well as make up the basis behind it and so on and so forth instead of just
saying...here you go! I have this thing to do via the Deux ex Machina or some
such...there is a difference). Those ARE the prime joke material...usually the only thing
you get when you comment on grammer and spelling are one liners concerning various
funcitons of the body. Happi is correct in saying something to the effect that it gets
old REALLY quick.

Do you know the author of this fanfic? I once wrote a fanfic involving
Sasami, and it was hentai, and I was *14*!
Yes...I know. This is where it gets somewhat close to home. You see the problem here is
not that one has made a Sasami lemon...but he who has made a Sasami lemon...WHERE SHE WAS
STILL A KID!!! The Tsunami factor can be thrown out in such fics, but few seem to explore
the serious ramifications of such an act (like temporarily increasing Sasami's age or
forced assimilation before it was time or what not)..Fukanzen is one such fic that
does...(I only hope my own does the same thing in a different way.)
The relative ages of the characters are not the sole criteria for
determining whether or not something is "pedophilic", however. That's
based much more on their absolute ages. A fourteeen-year-old having sex
with an 8-sai girl would certainly be considered child molestation just
about anywhere I can think of.

Sasami was the closest in age to myself at the time I wrote it...
And sorry to nitpick, but character age in TM! is a rather slippery
subject -- especially in the OAV series. However, if you take the
characters' ages given in the TV series as how old they'd be if they
hadn't been encased in crystal/in stasis/imprisoned in a cave/whatever,
Ryoko and Aeka are 17 and 20, respectively.
And Sasami would be somewhere around 8 to 10. As I recall in LTiL Mr. Masters had Sasami
being 13 (which I believe to be VERY inaccurate)...not that I think that condones what was
done in that fic any.

Perhaps, but that's much, much more a matter of how the viewer reacts.
After all, someone recently posted *Pokemon* <facefault!> hentai images to
abpe.anime recently, and I seriously doubt the original writers/artists
intended it to be seen that way. Don't blame the light for the way its
rays are distorted by the lens it passes through.

Assuming you mean Yosho & Aeka: it's not incest until there's actual sex,
and I presume that wouldn't have happened until Aeka had grown up and
they'd married. At that point, yes it's incest but they're both consenting
adults and it's their choice.
Not to mention it appears that that concept seems to have little to no meaning on Jurai.
If one were to pay close attention to what was said in the cabin in OVA 3 that is. I
personally see no problem with that...when one creates an alien race there are bound to be
differences in culture...you may see some very WEIRD ones, this just appears to be one of
them. Hell...if you want you could look at differences in cultures of ancient
civilizations...even today some of the things each culture does would seem weird or
downright offensive to others. As for the rest Happi summed it up nicely.
No one protests... Pioneer is still releasing them regularly. My
final point rests in the fact that no publicity is bad publicity... I'd
never heard of the fic you MSTed until you posted it. Now, doesn't that
suck? Thanks to *you* I had to see the pedophilic material you so
blatently despise. Why? Why, if you hate it so, would you repost the
damn thing?! Why not just write a nasty letter to the author... or post a
public announcment, without the original content included?
This I somewhat agree with in principle, but then again, the pedo material
is less offensive to most folks in a MST context. Actually, that applies
to all forms of awfullness about a fic. Terrible spelling, shameful
grammar, blatant plot devices, what have you -- the MSTing makes it
palatable. After all, what you said could just as easily be applied to the
films shown on the real MST3K. "Hercules vs the Moon Men" and "Warrior of
the Lost World" certainly didn't merit any publicity.
Personally I use it to vent frustrations as well as amuse myself...so yeah I suppose it
could also be said it makes it palatable.
Same goes for
those who MSTed my Sasami lemon... I agree, it's wonderful MST material...
the writing sucks... I was 14, give me a break. However, me getting
bashed over it because it involves Sasami is such a load of horsecrack.
Ah yes...the other part that hits close to home. You see I was the one who did that
particular MST (if I didn't someone else would have...most likely Don Euclid considering
his...distaste for such fics.). Actually what was wrong with that was MUCH worse than
simply bad writing. It had horrible characterization (the familiy of Tenchi didn't seem
to care one way or another about it's hurt members...at least not as much as you'd think
they would, not to mention they all turned into those for whom sex = love and that's just
for starters) lousy puns (I mean that thing had some really BAD ones), some REALLY bad
plot devices (the one where Ryouko met what's his face and what happened later was the
worst I think...Maybe the other one that required Tenchi to have sex with both Sasami and
Aeka at the same time rivaled that); that's all on top of the bad grammer, spelling and
other story problems to be noted. That and the other totally wrong technical details with
the Tenchi series as well as the fact Sasami was, while not below the age of concent in
Japan, (if one considers this long enough), not in any way shape or form mentally mature
enough to do something like that. Just because one can do something...does not mean one
should. That is why your fic got the treatment it did Mr. Masters. Not just because
Sasami was in it.
Not as I see it. Granted, I'm very biased on this score -- Sasami lemons
are a personal peeve of mine.

Since I turned 18 I've never written anything involving Sasami... though I
have written some stories involving the children of Evangelion. They're
14 years old... four years under the legal age...
Not in Japan. IIRC, the age of consent varies by prefecture. In Tokyo,
it's 12. That's Tokyo-1; the laws in Tokyo-3 are open to conjecture.

That's partly because it's allowed in the legal sense (see note above),
and also in the strict biological sense -- both participants have passed
puberty, which is not the case for Sasami. As to whether it's moral...
YMMV, but as far as I'm concerned the question is whether or not the
person is aware enough of what they're doing to be able to consent. IMHO
Shinji and Asuka probably are, and Sasami definitely isn't.

And before you say "but what about Tsunami?", rewatch OAV#9; Tsunami
definitely withhold information from Sasami that she doesn't feel Sasami
will be able to understand.
And as I said, there would be problems if Tsunami were to go off and do some guy or if
Sasami wanted Tsunami's help in doing some guy or what not. Most do not consider such
things when they write fics (explained I hope in the Sasami Rant on my page). Two Sasami
lemons deal with just such problems...to show what kind of problems there would be if such
a thing ever happened.

It's not a question of 'getting' some. It's the age difference as well as mental maturity
we are talking about here. At this point Sasami is no where near having the life
experience or physical age necessary to understand what she is doing (which is not to say
that a fic cannot be written about her future, or other extenuation circumstances, but I'm
digressing). That means said individual just, as Happi put it, molested Sasami.
And the last thing that guy would see would be about a thousand LHW's coming at him from
various sources, as well as other energies flying toward him (It'd be funny to see one of
the Tenchi cast pull of a Mankanko Seppu heh.)
