A bit of a note: This won't be written until AFTER I finish Book2 of TtP
(yeah, I'm working) but I had to at least get the intro to this little work
down.

Just something to give y'all a reason to irritate me to write some more.

*****

It's March, in the year 2630, and the city is Crystal Tokyo. It's a good
place, for the most part. A generally happy place. A place people who have
been hurt, who have been wounded by life go to heal. It soothes pain, it
makes problems lighter, and more or less makes you a little more glad to be
alive for having visited.

If you go to a rather deserted area of the North American Quarter, you'll
find a strange, low building with a railing on the roof, and a hand-painted
wooden sign that's been faded by the years so that it's unreadable. There
is a lot beside the building, filled with cars, hoverjets, small spacecraft,
and myriad other vehicles, parked in a sort of friendly jumble.

If you open the door, you'd find youself in a brightly lit room, filed with
tables that all have a decent firing line towards the large fireplace in one
walls, that's ludicrous in the fact that it's not only contains an actual
fire, but in that it's burning wood. Real wood, not some false fuel. The
ashes of said wood are mixed in with shards of glass. The back wall is
taken over by a large bar, with tall highback chairs instead of barstools.

Behind that bar is a rotund man of average height with fierce red hair and a
jolly smile, smoking a foul smelling cigar that wobbles in the air as he
laughs and talks. He would see you enter, and his eyes would seem to say:

"Come on in, have a drink. We'd love to have you."

That place is Callaghan's, and it was here Mousse on the day he expected to
die, and take the world with him.
