Goodness, Chris.  I don't know what to say.

As far as the John Falstaff reference is concerned,
yes, an entire play was written just for him,
but "The Merry Wives of Windsor" wasn't as up to
par as King Henry IV part I.  My Shakespeare
likens the death of Falstaff to perhaps the killing of the 
musketeers in 'The Man in the Iron Mask.'  Their age was over,
and rather than leave them  to the ravages of time,
he preserved him forever in immortality.

Of course, the situation with "Sylia is evil" fanfics
is different, but at least you have a different
perspective on Falstaff's death now.

P.S. For my Shakespeare theater class, I got
to perform Doll's eulogy for Falstaff.  It 
was very eye-opening.
