x-over: 1) Kuno does come from a later time period, and is much more 
likely to know MORE about swordfighting than Kenshin. 2) Kenshin wins

ehem...talk about a guy who lives by the sword, and a guy who uses a 
stick to oggle for women...there is no basis for that statement.  In 
fact in RK itself, 10 years of Meiji you've got only a handful of 
skillful swordsmen...unlike in the Tokugawa period, if you're still 
alive, then you must know how to handle a sword quite adeptly...
 

 What WOULD be interesting is what happened if Kenshin DID lose to 
Kuno. 

that's what fanfics are for...the unbelievable to be true...
