"Endymion...."
I awoke suddenly upon hearing that voice. I looked around the room trying
to locate the source. Usagi apparently didn't hear it as she is still
sound asleep. I looked at her again, memorizing every detail of her, every
contour of her body, observing the subtle rise and fall of her chest as she
breathed. I guess this is what most new husbands do, look at their wives
and wonder if all this was just a dream. "Yes, almost a dream." I quietly
whisper as I stroke her silky hair, kissing her forehead as I got out of
our bed. It's been only a few days since our marriage and I've never been
more at peace. My life couldn't be more perfect. "Endymion...." Well,
almost perfect. I turned around and got the surprise of my life. Standing
almost directly in front of me was my ghostly future image, King Endymion,
ruler of Neo-Tokyo, protector of the Queen. "The future is imperiled
Endymion, you must seek out the knights." "The knights?" I ask, not
knowing what my future self was trying to say to me. "Assemble the knights
Endymion or we may have no future..." But I thought I had a future with
Usagi and Crystal Tokyo...Was that a lie too? "How do I find them?" I ask
hoping that my voice hid the fear and confusion I felt, unfortunately it
didn't, not that the one I'm speaking to noticed. "You shall know them
when the time is right." my ghostly apparition replied. "The future of
our world and the life of our wife relies on the knights Endymion, the
knights must awaken..." he whispered, his voice like a dying wind and then
he disappeared. I looked out the porch and continued to ponder what he or
rather I was trying to say. "Mamo-chan?" I turn around and see her, my
angel, my queen, my wife, Usagi Chiba, the future queen of Neo-Tokyo. Her
face was etched with worry, probably because of me. I smiled trying to
make her believe that all was right with the world. She smiled back, gods
how beautiful she is, and beckons me to her side. The knights can wait.
