But I set out to deliberately violate canon, because this part of the canon
displeased me a little. I myself just happen to think that "Xian Pu" is a
better and more respectful Chinese name. Also, I think it important to
mention that I only had her call herself "Xian Pu" while speaking Chinese;
when she spoke in Japanese, she referred to herself as Shampoo.

As I pointed out on Usenet, if you're going to take _that_ tack, Shampoo
is the _least_ of the names you're going to have to modify. "Saotome" is a
pun. "Ryouga" is a pun. So is "Mikado". Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi are pun
names (they're named after types of cloud). Happy and Lucky. Kasha-ou
Kinnosuke. Herb, Lime, and Mint. Piccolet Chardin (named after a toilet
cleanser).  Saffron.

If you're going to change Shampoo's name because it's disrespectful to
Chinese people, are you going to change Nabiki's name because it's
disrespectful to Japanese people?
