The way it really looks to me is that while RANMA doesnt have a problem in
paying for his food, GENMA is a lazy freeloader who wouldnt pass up a chance
for some free food.  Otherwise, why bother coming to live with the Tendos?  If
Genma was as much a man as Ranma is (in between those times when he gets
zapped by cold water) he would have gotten a job and a small place near the
Tendos, so their fiancee's could get to know each other.

In addition to all of this, every time Ranma has been promised in mariage,
there was something in it for Genma... like the Okonomyaki cart, or his son as
head of a Dojo...  Etc.

Its not Ranma who we need to blame for the most part here... Genma is the one
who causes most of the problems when it involves someone being cheated.
