Ladies and gentlemen, the polls for the 1999 induction period of the FFML
Author's Encyclopedia has now begun, and will run from now until 99May31.
Nominations for new members are to be sent to the following address:
ffml-ae@egroups.com, with the subject tag [Nomination]
Those submitting nominations should cite the reason why the nominee should
be accepted into the Encyclopdia and a simple list of the nominees best, in
the nominator's opinion, fic/s. Nominees can either be as single (e.g.,
Richard Lawson, Greg Sandborn, etc.), or as a member of a group (e.g., F.
Nikolas Toledo Zu), but the nominee must have been a member of the FFML
through the period of 98Jun01 - 99May31. Also, FFML members cannot nominate
themselves for consideration, and asking others to do so is highly
discouraged--this is a hall of fame based on literary merit, not mailing
list politics.
Additionally, essays and articles are being accepted for the writer's guide
portion of the site. These articles will be intended to be used as a guide
for better fiction writing, and can currently be found at:
http://members.tripod.com/nekohanten. Submissions for essays will be
accepted at ffml-ae@egroups.com, with the tag [Essay].
Additionally, for those current members of the FFML AE whose URLs or emails
have changed (e.g. Sean Gaffney, whose updated URL will be included in FFML
AE 99) please notify us as well; notifications for such must be sent to
ffml-ae@egroups.com with the tag [URL Update]. An additional thing that we
would like is a direct link to what the member considers their finest work
(e.g. Alan Harnum's entry will contain a direct link to Waters Under Earth,
assuming said work is the one chosen.)
Lastly, I would like to say, this is part of the annual opportunity to give
back to the FFML community and recognize the best of our own. In a year
that has seen a lot of change for the FFML, this is a prime chance to make
the stars out there shine all the brighter.
Thank you,
