That's how I read this one, too. Shamps in this came across to me as
vindictive and spiteful -- a sore loser. If this was supposed to make
the reader feel sympathetic toward her, well, it didn't work -- at
least, not for me.

BTW, Ranma not paying for his meals is a fanfic convention with no
support in the series. I find it rather unlikely that Shampoo could've
been offering him food as a sort of bribe, as this fic suggests, since
Akane was generally with him when you saw him eating at the Nekohanten
or at Ucchan's.
