Okay, I've had a bit of trouble with both computers and email addresses
recently (my computer broke down about two days before my account at
university closed, so I couldn't send a farewell message). If you're
reading this, then these problems have been fixed, at least temporarily.

I STILL NEED IDEAS FOR FUTURE CHAPTERS!!!! I'm probably going to take a
break from OL after this chapter, to work on my other fics, including "To
Lose, To Gain", "Kingdoms" and "Sea-Blue of the Stars" (The Nadesico fic I'm
planning), as well as to try and work out what to do between the events here
and the final chapters. Apart from working on my other fics, my main reason
for doing this is that I'm having trouble coming up with ideas (although I
am considering having the series turn somewhat darker after this chapter).
The more ideas people send me, the quicker "Lightsphere" will probably be
continued.

BTW, something I forgot to mention in last chapter's authors notes: Iczer
Zero's "character design" was based fairly heavily on a character from
another anime series. Can you identify her? (Hint: Toshihiro Hirano
directed this series as well as the Iczer OVAs)

This chapter has both LEMON and NON-LEMON versions. They are basically the
same, although the former contains a couple of extra scenes (nudge, nudge,
wink, wink). The extra scenes are not integral to story continuity. Also,
this is my first attempt at writing a lemon (just so you know). Oh, and the
non-lemon version will have some slight sexual content as well.

Oh, and finally, "Neon Genesis Evangelion" is now an official part of OL
continuity. However, most of the canonical events (i.e. the TV series and
movies) take place in an alternate reality. More info on that when I write
"Nagisa^2".

Okay, that's enough bandwidth wasted.

OPERATION: LIGHTSPHERE
An Iczer/Teknoman crossover fanfic

Any & all C&C NEEDED, MSTs especially welcome.

Phase 3, Chapter 2:
Together Once More: 2087 Chapter*
[* A. Notes: I was trying to come up with a good title which referred to
the chapter's main focus, and this happened to come into my mind. Any
resemblance between this chapter and Chris Davies' fics is purely
coincidental (although Brian Yaple, who has been MSTing this fic, was
described in ALSW as "Chris Davies lite" and also wrote an Iczelion fic)]

OP: "Love Reflection" (the ED for Gundam Wing OVA 1. No, this fic has
nothing to do with GW, and I can't see a way that it (or any Gundam) could
fit into the OL universe at this stage. It's just a cool song, that's all.)

She was floating. Floating through space, but not the cold, dark space
that her physical body would die in if it waas not protected. Space here
was filled with vibrant, ever-shifting colors - now green, now yellow, now
orange - and as the color of space shifted, so did the color of the stars.
Nagisa's astral body was naked, but that did not worry her - in fact, to
cover her body would be to hide something from the woman she wished to
contact, and she had as little need and desire to hide anything as Iczer-One
had to do so to her.

She caught sight of Iczer-One, also naked, her long golden hair being blown
by a nonexistent wind, and the usual calm smile on her face - a smile which
told her that there was nothing to worry about, that she would always be
safe while they were together. The pair floated closer, and Nagisa spoke.

"Kterha, tsayeth." The Kthulhu language was simple to Nagisa. Even though
the subtleties of its pronunciation would have taken years of intense study,
it was as if she had spoken it every day since she was born.

"Kterha, Kai Nagisa." Iczer-One replied. Her name actually sounded
strange to her when Kthulhu was being spoken. "I have truly missed you."

"Me too, since I became aware again. Soon, we can be with each other.
Finally."

The astral bodies of Nagisa and Iczer-One floated toward each other, edging
ever closer, until finally they touched, Iczer-One taking Nagisa's hand in
hers.

"Iczer-One... thank you, for giving me power in that last fight."

"Nagisa, there is no need to thank me for something I could not refuse.
Thank you for asking for my help." Iczer-One replied. Then, the pair began
to drift further apart, and the colored space surrounding them began to
fade. "It will not be long until we are truly together."

The words echoed in Nagisa's mind as Iczer-One's image faded away.

*	*	*	*	*

Nagisa arose from the bunk where she was sleeping, and switched the lights
on. She stretched, and then wasted no time in dressing and heading to the
bridge of the /Fuji Empress/.

"Good morning, Nagisa." Star said, greeting the girl she entered. "It
shouldn't be long until we arrive, now."

	"I know. What's our ETA?"

"Six hours, thirty minutes. So, you have time for some breakfast first."

Nagisa gazed at the ship's instruments, and her eyes lit up as she saw one
of the digital readouts.

	"Star! Did you notice this?"

	"What?"

Nagisa pointed at the readout... GMT 00:31:14 01/01/2087. The New Year had
arrived, and the pair both dared to hope that the troubles which had plagued
them in the last year were now, truly, the past. It was a different year,
now, and the time had arrived to focus on what was to come.

After she had showered and eaten breakfast, Nagisa returned to the ship's
bridge. Most of the others were there by that time - Kawai, Kiiro and Nami
ware chatting together, while Mizuki and Shara sat, talking quietly. Star
and Tina remained on-duty at the helm and instruments respectively. Blade,
for his part, sat in silence. The only crew member missing, Ringo, had
taken the shift on the helm before Star's and was currently asleep.

"Nagisa, do you think we should send the Kthulhu our greeting yet?" Star asked.

"Yeah, it's probably a good time. Tina, you've got the communications
equipment set up?"

	"Ready anytime, Nagisa."

Nagisa turned to the communication screen, and spoke.

"Ktteu, lfur Chikyuu Lioct Iczelion Kai Nagisa. Czewu rhie tyiwulf
kkthorhu. Thua." She spoke the language confidently and eloquently, and
paid no attention to the confused looks she recieved from her companions.
An adult Kthulhu with pale purple hair, dressed in the uniform of a
high-ranking officer, appeared on the screen and replied.

"Ktaaerhiu, Chikyuu Lioct Iczelion Kai Nagisa-iczirhu. Kmue rhathu."

"Lufoeth. Ktteu-acz." Nagisa ended the transmission, and gasped as the
realization of the true meaning of the mode of address the Kthulhu had used.
"Nagisa-iczirhu"... to be worthy of the -iczirhu suffix, the *minimum*
requirement was to be a queen, and it was frequently used in prayers. What
did it truly mean they considered her to be?

{You are Iczer-One's partner} her Iczel reminded her. {Iczer-One is the
guardian of the Kthulhu.}

	{And, according to Kthulhu law and tradition, I am the same person as her.}

{Correct, Nagisa. And the Kthulhu shall expect you to behave that way when
you arrive.}

"Guys, I'm going to my room for a few minutes. I'll be back before long."
Nagisa said as she left the bridge.

Nagisa's Iczel was waiting for her as she entered her room, and she smiled
at it.

"Okay, Iczel, guess we'd better dress for a special occasion."

The clothes Nagisa was wearing disappeared, and she felt energy flow over
her body - not the intense, powerful form of her battle transformation, but
soft and warm, like being immersed in the waters of a hot spring. Her
arms, then her torso, then her legs and feet, were clothed in a
loose-fitting bodysiut of a type of bright red fabric which was warm and
strong, yet incredibly light and thin. Then, her left arm, her torso from
left shoulder to right hip, and her left leg were covered in a slightly
lighter-colored version of the same fabric. More layers of the fabric, ever
more lightly-colored, appeared over those parts of her body, until the final
layer appeared - pure, brilliant white. There seemed to`be a natural flow
of colors from the bottom layer to the top.

Meanwhile, her hair wrapped itself around a silvery, palm-sized ornament
consisting of two interlocking rings which rested on top of her head,
several strands of hair running along each of the "pathways" to the top.
Where they converged, another small ornament held them together in a
ponytail that reached down to her shoulders.

As Nagisa reentered the bridge, everyone's eyes turned toward her, stunned
by how different she looked after her change in clothing.

"Nagisa-han, what's..." Kiiro began to ask her.

"Kthulhu ceremonial clothing. I decided that it's a special occasion, so I
should wear it. Oh, and I sent the Iczels to bring you guys something to
wear, too."

By the time the ship had appeared out of hyperspace, a short distance from
the Kthulhu's starship, all of the females aboard, excepting Star and
Mizuki, had been dressed in the same way as Nagisa, in colors corresponding
to those of their Iczelion armor.

"Well, it looks like we're dressed for the reception." Kawai commented.
"I'm just worried about how we should act."

"Keep in telepathic contact with the Iczels. They'll instruct you."

Nami smiled. "Well, we'll be docking soon. At least it looks like we'll
get a good reception."

*	*	*	*	*

Nagisa was the first to emerge from the ship, followed by Shara and
Iczer-3, and with the other Iczelions a short distance behind them, and
Star, Ringo, Blade, and Mizuki last. As they alighted from the stairs, they
were flanked by rows of Kthulhu, some in uniforms, others in formal civilian
garb. Two Kthulhu approached Nagisa - a youthful, grey-haired woman in
ceremonial robes, and another with indigo hair, dressed in purple and white
Iczelion armor with a dark blue cloak.

"We welcome you on behalf of the Kthulhu." Sister Grey said, dropping to
one knee.

"We welcome you on behalf of the sphere of alliance." General Indigo said,
duplicating Sister Grey's motion. Then, both of them spoke together.

	"We welcome you, Guardian Nagisa."

The pair stepped aside, allowing Nagisa to pass - the other humans did not
move. In front of her, there was a flash of blue light, and then Nagisa was
finally able to see the person whom she had been longing to since before her
present incarnation had been born.

Iczer-One was dressed in garments similar to Nagisa's, but with only hints
of white and yellow among the bright red her clothing was colored. Although
only a few seconds passed as she approached the Kthulhu guardian, it seemed
to Nagisa, as it did to Iczer-One, as if an eternity was passing, with each
of them slowly growing more joyous as the end of time approached. Then,
time ended. Nagisa felt Iczer-One's arms wrap around her body, at the exact
same time she took hold of Iczer-One. Then, their lips touched, and it was
the only thing Nagisa desired to know. She was lost in her kiss with
Iczer-One, and wanted to remain lost forever.

*	*	*	*	*

"After so long, Iczer-One, we are truly together." Nagisa Kano thought
aloud as she watched her physical incarnation fall into the embrace. "Here,
souls exist outside of time, but the years it took my granddaughter's desire
to be fulfilled were the source of the pain I felt with her... even though
she kept that pain secret, even though she had no idea what was caused her
loneliness... now, that pain can end for her."

A hand touched her shoulder, and Nagisa knew who it was before she turned
to see him - a boy, apparently teenaged like herself, dressed in a school
uniform, with grey hair and red eyes.

"Many of them believe we do not feel pain here." The boy said softly. "But
they are wrong. In place of our own pain, we feel that of others. Although
you have not been here long, you know that."

"Hai. But, if she's my reincarnation..."

"...then that means she is both fully you *and* fully herself. Being you
allows her to possess your emotions and memories, while being herself allows
you to share her pain while she is in the material realm."

Nagisa glanced back toward the image of her granddaughter.

"Can I ask..." She began to say, then realised the boy had disappeared.

"Oh, it's so *annoying* when you do that."

END PHASE 3, CHAPTER 2
Ed: "Rainy Love", from the Iczer-1 Battle Music Collection CD

I'll remind people once again that I need story ideas, without which it
will be some time before I continue. As I mentioned at the start, the story
will probably become darker, and at least one of the good guys will probably
die in a future chapter (I'll let you guess which character(s) - there may
well be more than one).

Oh, well, I guess I should get on to my other fics now. BTW, Nagisa^2 is
"coming soon".
