	This part is low on monster/action [Low not absent], but it does set up some

	Duke awoke and looked around only to discover that he was in yet another

	"Dammit Mayuka!" screamed the woman angrily.
	"If you wanted to know who I was you could have checked my ID. I do have a

	The older woman reached over and snatched his pants off the chair. She
flipped through his wallet and froze in place. After looking back and from the
wallet to him she gasped and lowered the gun and dropped it to the floor.
	"You seem like a smart lady, but you can't operate a handgun like that. It
kicks like a mule and you forgot to turn the safety off," said Duke as he
plucked it off the ground.
	"I'm sorry, please forgive me officer. I thought you where a criminal or
something..." stammered the woman in embarrassment.
	"Officer? Tell me something, do you wear glasses miss?" asked Duke looking
amused.
	"Why yes..." said the woman as she took a pair out of her blouse. Duke noted
that she absently flashed him as she did so. She was quite attractive; but he
hardly noticed under the circumstances. Really.
	Duke smiled as she looked at the badge inside the wallet again. He retrieved
his pants and placed them on under the sheets. He grinned mischievously as he
noticed the disappointed look on Mayuka's face.

aimed the gun and grinned at the woman with an almost insane smile.
	She collapsed to the ground in a dead faint and a dark mist formed in the air
above her. "Don't act like you knew mortal, the person you saw when you walked
in was the real her," snarled the face that formed above her.
	"I know, she looked like she was enjoying herself until you showed," answered
Duke calmly as he put the gun back in it's holster.
	"I'll destroy you!" screamed the fog beast as it charged Duke. He calmly
stepped aside and grinned as he flicked the switch on the heavy duty metal fan
he was standing in front of. He had turned it around and it was facing away
towards the wall.
	The monster screamed and tried to back away in the air; but it was too late;
It was sucked into the high powered fan and it screamed in agony. Duke had
originally wanted to rattle it's cage, but it was a fine red mist and chunks
of solid monster that formed as the creature lost it's concentration, was all
that came out the other side of the fan. The monster finally regained enough
control to solidify completely and it fell to the ground screaming and cursing
at him. It was completely cut in half all the way up to it's chest. Duke took

new state. He then sliced off it's head neatly and the monster fell silent.
	"What was that?" asked Mayuka in a small frightened voice from the corner.
She had been attracted by the noise and entered just in time to see the
finish.
	"That, my dear, is what I do for a living," said Duke as he removed and
cleaned his weapons from the carcass.
	The girl gasped and looked at him for a moment before turning away. Her
mother stood blushing behind him and she walked out of the kitchen and up the
stairs. "I'm getting dressed, you can use the bath if you like," she muttered
quietly and quickly.

	Duke soaked quietly in the bath and sighed as he let the steam melt the
tension from his body. The monster had been surprisingly easy to kill and he

	This chapter was low on monster and high on porn I know. You probably won't
see another one like this for a long while...If ever. Think of it as a break
of sorts for Duke, and a personal test for me, just to see if I could write
one of these. Duke will be back to his monster busting days next Ch. This is
an important step in his slowly changing attitude about a great many things.

how he treats them; so in a way this is also a pretty important chapter. Don't
worry as I said before: This sets up some important plot stuff for later.
