This is indeed one impressive achievement. Just remember, it's not just the
physical characteristics but the internal biochemical systems have to be
developed as well. For those of you who are interested, I've only seen 1
Well, you're preaching to the converted with me. Slipped my mind and I didn't
mention that (perhaps Achmed merely assumed that any viewer would know that
much as well, as opposed to me assuming that and not putting it in). ^_^
novel 'The DEUS Machine' that talks about the amount of work that would be
neccessary to develop biological organisms from the gene level. Check it
out.
Very interested. Who's the writer?
Your body does it automatically, unthinkingly; in the same way the Queen, a
fitting enough
appellation, unconsciously checks and corrects the code.
I do believe there's a proper term for this kind of activity, but for the
life of me I can't remember.
Neither can I, for that matter. Anyone want to help me with this, since
it's been more than a dog's age since I took a Biology course?
(private replies would be best for an answer to this request, obviously)
since most DNA in creatures doesn't really do anything, just 'line noise'
'The DEUS Machine' also shows what's hiding in that 'line noise'. But I
won't spoil it for you.
That was... unexpected.
This reminds me of something I once read a long time ago: "This is off
switch, and this is self-destruct switch"
All in all. Good job! I hope you won't make us wait another 2 years for the
next one!
Well, you never know.... I mean, with the Y2K bug and everything.... ^_^
(interesting to note, in 999A.D. there were similar end of the world
fears, people pointing to all sorts of prophecies coming true and such.
1000A.D. was rather quiet a year, if I recall correctly.... Gee, find
anything similar?) :)
As a side note, I'm looking for fresh victims to take a look at
Soul of Ice: Synthesis-- Broken. It is mostly done, since I'm debating
on whether or not to put another chapter in. Some tweaking is necessary,
beyond that of the possible other chapter, of course. Volunteers need reply
to me privately about it, and have the burning desire to give pointers,
comments, and be able to put up with me, an absent-minded person who
has a tendency to... what was I saying? ^_^
