This is specifically ID'd as a post-vol 38 story. Given the results of
the Saffron story arc, it's a fairly common belief that the two would be
forced somewhat to mature in terms of their relationship. Furthermore,
given the phrasing, we can assume that Ranma has waxed eloquent on the
subject of the fuku-clad warriors before. It is very likely that she
has already settled in her mind how Ranma views the Senshi.
Ranma would NEVER have that high a respect for "girls" dressed in
reveal=
ing
outfits. Especially considering the fact that they rely on their powers
t=
o
defeat youma
I don't see how this would affect things. For that matter, he might
view their powers as really advanced chi techniques. He tends to show a
lot of respect for that sort of thing.
(The fact that a lot of the time the youma usually gives the=
m a
hard time until Tuxedo Kamen helps wouldn't help either).
This would be his first personal encounter with them--everything he
knows about them would be off the television. And it's well-established
in the SM canon that the Senshi get pretty good press (note Shingo's
adoration, despite him having less use for "girls" than Ranma).
Celebrity can screw up a lot of folks "normal" attitudes. I know a fair
number of mildly prejudicial people on the subject of race who think
Michael Jordan is the Second Coming.
His ego is extremely inflated, more along the lines of "I can take on a

Senshi any day with one hand behind my back but I don't hit girls!!"
Ranma's perfectly willing to hit girls in a martial arts tournament. He
just won't hit Akane. After all, he did defeat Shampoo in just that
setting. Of course, that doesn't mean that you're incorrect about him
believing that he can take them, no problem....
The figures stepped into the light, and Pluto relaxed. "You

Sailor Pluto surprised on her home turf???!!!
I missed that, and it's a valid point. The mysterious duo may have
other powers, though, that keep them from being quite so easily
detected.

Being the superior martial artist that he was, he should have been

snatch the paper out of the air, rip it to shreds, and throw the

Please. Even the most basic of MAs can block or catch a thrown
projectile, particularaly a blunt one, as long as they see it coming.
And Ryouga is just a little behind Ranma in skill.

How does he know Ranma is going?
This probably could have been explained in a bit more detail, but it's
not that hard to figure out: Ryouga knows that Ranma would be likely to
attend any tournament in the nearby area, and futhermore, as P-Chan,
he's probably heard Ranma talk about the Senshi.

Genma manages to say all this with a look. Soun would have had to

Since my knowledge of Nodoka is limited, I can't exactly refute
that--but has she ever actually said that? Or does she just consider
fighting to be "unwomanly"? Again, factor in the Senshi's reps.

better built than Usagi--she has curves, they're just not as...

You're assuming they're doing the "macho-man hyper-grip" thing. All
that's described is a staredown.

Well, I've seen worst.=20
I've seen a lot worse, and this actually has a lot of potential. The
characters aren't treated as cookie-cutouts, but they still fall within
the bounds of plausible interpretation. I think An-chan does an
excellent job of avoiding most of the worst cliches in a Ranma/SM
team-up.
Note, on the characterization issues, I'm not saying your expectations
were wrong--just that the situation is a bit unpredictable due to the
interaction of the two series, and that there's a lot of wiggle room.
