Subject: [FFML] Patlabor: Personal Files- Update and a request...

Well, here I am (slightly feverish due to a bout of the flu brought about
by more than two days without power in below freezing weather, overworking,
and more) thinking that, since it's been over a month since I posted
anything for any of my fanfics, I might as well explain what's going on. I
may regret this later, but... well, I can always blame it on the flu...

Quite frankly, I'm totally blocked- on everything, but more on P:PF than
anything. However, P:PF episode 07 is pretty close to being finished- just
a few more scenes to go.

Well, I had an idea. Actually, something I've been thinking about for some
time now, but I was hoping to offer it between episodes, and not during the
writing of an episode. Namely, I want some prereaders and a co-writer for
Patlabor: Personal Files. So I'm asking someone out there to volunteer.
(I'm willing to except multiple co-writers, but... well, we'll see how many
I'm willing to accept depending on how many volunteer- if anyone does.
Also, I may not accept ANY volunteers if I feel that there aren't any who
would help me speed up the process- i.e., if I think you'll write as slow
as Zen works on Long and Winding Road, well...). I will, though, be fully
willing to accept co-writers who I reject as prereaders, if you like (and I
need prereaders MUCH more than I need co-writers. If I get three or four
co-writer volunteers and no prereader volunteers, I may very well just pull
one co-writer out of the pack and ask the rest to preread)

Now, if you DO become a co-writer, here is what will happen: First come,
first serve will get what I've written of Episode 07 (80% complete, I
think) and notes on how I want it finished. Also, because I've been
forcing parts of it (perhaps not noticibly, but I have been. People
sometimes don't realize when I am forcing my writing), I'll ask you to
perhaps rewrite sections of it you think need such revision. Then, I'd
like it if you sent the finished product back to me for 'approval,' just to
make sure it doesn't interfere with anything I have planned for future
episodes and to make certain our writing styles don't clash too much (at
the very least, we can write arrange better transitions between us).

Then, that co-writer, and any others, will recieved important details on
plans for future episodes (all of season 2, aka eps. 23-44, are one huge
plotline which could be majorly messed up if you write certain things, and
there probably are one or two other little things I'll ask you not mess
up). It is for this reason I don't want to have the co-writers list and
the prereaders list overlap, because I want the prereaders to be kept in
suspense about certain things.

Then... well, the co-writers will wait. If I get blocked up again, I'll
ask one of you to volunteer to fill in the holes, and there are several
episodes I have free for 'filler' episodes I'll ask one or the other of you
to write from time to time.

Hmm... oh, yeah, and I really want some prereaders for this series, too.
So, any volunteers?
