Plus he's using English idiom in his speech.  VERY unlikely.

Ranma is not a scholar.  If he had spent a few months in the US, though...

Guess I could mention him spending some time wandering America before
Genma's great 'Send Ranko to college' scheme.

The ability to speak with the native population is a vital part of the
story. Therefore, he MUST have picked up English sometime before the story.
Perhaps Hinako-sensei's English classes actually got through him?
