Ah, a year has passed.  Nevermind.

As I think I raised this point a few times.  The timeline and flow is 
erratic, and often obscured.  If this was simply to enhance the 
storyline, that would be one thing.  But several times, I was left 
wondering why such-and-such was happening for a paragraph of two, until 
we finally got a flag.

A few more questions/ramblings before I stop this insane ride I call
C&C email.

The island:  You said that the island was not completely of this world.
You mean an alternate dimension or something?  Was that sunken city
we saw Atlantis?

The black goo.  Was that something that was sealed away by the original
inhabitants, perhaps the inhabitants themself... or just a deus ex 

machina

to end our time on the island?  Why was Akane called to the temple and
why didn't the oil kill her when it did everything else?

These are both common elements in the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, as 
were several other elements in the storyline.  I've been assuming this 
was almost a Ranma/H.P. fusion, which is why I'm still convinced that 
Nab-chan is going to be revealed in the sequel as the spawn of Cthulu.

The wild dogs:  Were they really intelligent as a pack or were Akane
and Ukyou just personalizing things?

Given the HP influence, it's likely that the dogs were responding to the 
innate malevolence of the island itself.

Warr

Who wonder's if it is ethical that the required reading for his Ethics
class was written by his Ethics teacher.

Heh.  And probably at $40+ a pop, too....
