The perfect way to show Mihoshi as an incredibly smart secret agent is 

to

simply write the story from her point of view.

She'll go on in her air-headed way, while noting things that are 

extremely

perceptive.

Why is she there?  To keep an eye on the rest of them.

Now, as long as she isn't caught talking to her shoe...

Fade in
Ext. Tokyo Snappy-Mart Convenience Store, Summer 199-, afternoon

We see the exterior of a typical small convenience store.

Int. Snappy-Mart Convenience Store

MIHOSHI and KIYONE are at another one of their infamous part-time jobs, 
this time working as clerks at a convenience store. Several customers 
are standing in line to check out, and MIHOSHI, as usual, is bungling 
her task.

MALE CUSTOMER (counting change)
Three hundred fifty, sixty, seventy. Here you are.

MIHOSHI
And that's three, no, four yen change.

MIHOSHI tries to hand the change to MALE CUSTOMER, but she drops the 
coins onto the floor.

MIHOSHI
Oops.

MIHOSHI bends over behind the counter to retrieve the dropped change.

KIYONE
MI-HO-SHIII!

MIHOSHI (standing up, tearful)
Sorry Kiyone!

There is a faint beeping sound.

MIHOSHI
Un, excuse me, Kiyone, I heve to, um...

KIYONE
Yeah, whatever, I'll take over for you.

MIHOSHI walks into the storeroom and stands behind a tall stack of large 
crates. She lifts what appears to be a make-up compact to her face.

MIHOSHI
Yes Chief?

VOICE (presumably the CHIEF)
Mihoshi, i've got a new mission for you. There's new activity in your 
sector, and it could be linked to DELTA-V--

MIHOSHI
You mean Devious Exploiters of Legitamate Trade And Virtue? The 
trans-galactic crime cartel?

CHIEF
Yes. As I was saying, DELTA-V could be setting up operations in your 
sector, and I want you to investigate. Can you do it?

MIHOSHI
Yes, sir!

CHIEF
You do understand that this is a dangerous mission? You will be in 
constant jeopardy, success or failure hanging on your every move.

MIHOSHI (cheerfully)
And loving every minute of it, sir!

There is no response.

MIHOSHI
Sir? Sir? Are you there? Guess he hung up.

Begin Title Sequence

MIHOSHI is seen entering a large nondescript building from the street. 

The title flashes: Get Mihoshi

She emerges from a stairwell into a long empty hallway. As she marches 
along, she carefully and not-so-carefully avoids various booby-traps: an 
arrow fired from the wall, a pie-in-the-face, a falling sword, etc.
After she has cleared all of the traps, a small door in the wall opens, 
and a large Doberman Pinscher comes out and begins charging at her. She 
runs, stepping through an electric eye, which causes a set of automatic 
doors in front of her to begin closing. She makes it through the doors 
just before they close, leaving the dog trapped on the other side. 
Smiling, she continues onward, only to fall through a trap door in the 
floor.

Fade to black.
