Normally, when I read a fic that is simply bad, and not even outstandingly
so, I either simply delete it and forget about it, or privately point out
to the author exactly *why* it is bad.

And when a fic is exceptionally bad, I rip it to shreds in a scathing MST.
(I believe there are incidents those who have been around for a while may
remember.)

This particular fic is neither simply bad, nor exceptionally bad...and
under most circumstances, I would probably privately e-mail the author and
then delete the fic. However, there are two things about this fic which
stand out, which I feel the need to point out.

Hello, this is my first fan fiction. I have never watched any Sailor
Moon and I only have a few graphic novels on Ranma so the bulk of what
I know about the two series comes from other authors fanfics and ideas.

One must wonder what compels a person to write anything about a series they
have never seen or read. When writing fanfiction, it helps to have a
practical working knowledge of the series you are working with. Practical
working knowledge for a manga series, I would call three volumes; for an
anime, I would say at least eight episodes, depending on the length of the
series. With crossovers, using elements of a series you have no first-hand
experience with is almost acceptable, provided you do intensive research
into the series before proceeding and have stellar knowledge of the other
series.

Reading fanfics does not constitute as working knowledge of a series, in
any event, no matter HOW close to canon the author stays.

I'm snipping the rest of a poorly written fic for the sake of space, and
will simply come directly to my second point.

This particular fic seems to be an amalgam of pirated plot points from
established fanfiction.

On the Ranma end, we have:

-Blase, cliche Ryouga/Ranma argument.
-Akane's cooking is radioactive/alive/toxic waste.
-Tofu-sensei is still floating around at a point in the series at which he
had vanished (We're all, admittedly, guilty of this one at some point or
another, so I won't hold this one against the author.)

On the Sailormoon and crossover end, we have:

-Dead Sailor Senshi.
-P-chan taken over by the spirit of one of the guardian cats. (Personal
note: While the concept of a talking P-chan serving as advisor to a Sailor
Senshi was introduced in BSSR, the concept of Ryouga being possessed by,
and actively aware of, a moon cat spirit which speaks through his pig form
is something introduced in my Nibun no Senshi Sailormoon series.)
-All of Japan has heard about the defeat of the Sailor Senshi, and it was
discussed at the Tendou residence. (Again, shades of NNSSM.)
-Ranma and Ryouga trash the monster which killed the Sailor Senshi. (See
above...)
-Ranma is an undiscovered Sailor Senshi. (Shades of MANY Ranma/SM fics,
most notably Lines of Destiny.)

It would be bad form on my part to claim ownership of any idea expressed in
fanfiction, of course. And admittedly, annoyance at the apparent
ripping-off of Nibun no Senshi Sailormoon is what has prompted me to openly
criticize this work. I'm only human, and I'm a right egotistical one at
that. However, the evidence within the fic speaks for itself, when one
reads this chapter, then reads the existing earlier episodes of Nibun no
Senshi Sailormoon. Of course, I will leave that to the judgement of others,
as my own cannot be trusted in this matter.

However, I would suggest to this particular author that if you are going to
plagiarize other peoples' fanfics, at least have the sense not to use too
many elements from any one particular fic. When you have too many things
going on which people recognize from another work, they become suspicious.
