The only thing I can say I really didn't like was Tojiko. I understand
why she's there, but to me she comes off as nothing more than an ideal
love interest for Kuno. I'd really like to see more development of her
so that she can stand as an interesting character in her own right. If
nothing else, please give her a weird quirk or two.

I agree there. I would have been more receptive to Kuno starting a relation
with Nabiki Sr. There had to be a reason he though of her name when it came
time to name the baby. Also that would have opened up a whole new source of
conflict between Akane and Nabiki. I could just see Akane's reaction to it
give how she was treating him if one morring she was walking down the hall and
out he walks half naked from Nabiki's room.....

Also though I could also see the 'old' Kuno asking for a three way marrage
with Akane and Ranma <G>.

3) All of the sudden, the island effectively kicks its visitors out, and
they wind up dumped back into the world from which they came.

That I put to Ranma having release what ever was in the temple. The Dark
Power got what it wanted so bye-bye castaways. It did not seem it the rote
cared if they lived or died as they servered their purpuse.

So... did the power in the island cause all this to happen in order that
it could incarnate itself into a new life form, then escape its pocket
universe and gain access to the unsuspecting world of modern
civilization? Is Nabiki really the arch-fiend? (Baby Nabiki, I mean.)

I was thinking this also. The Little Nabiki being born in the temple reminded
me of the last Black Company novel (Well not really the last as there is a new
one out that I've not been able to force myself past the first few chapters..)
where the Lady relizes too late that the ceremony was not for her but for the
unborn baby which was why it did not affect her.
