Again, I'm really wondering how *close* Ranma and Akane are here? The 

pre-

determined distance of five feet would have put their futons awfully 

close

togeher.

I would want to go with 2 meters separation before it becomes noticeable 
and 3 meters before it becomes severe. Also, is he distance the distance 
between their brains or the distance between the nearest parts of their 
bodies? Example: they are lying with their feet 50 centimeters apart, 
but their brains are nearly three and a half meteres apart. is the 
distance between them 50 centimeters, 3 1/2 meters, or somewhere in 
between?
