I hastily shook my head. "But that's not what happened.
First of all, who was this mysterious person Ranma was
talking to? It wasn't Kodachi, clearly. Genma, Ryouga, Kasumi,
Ukyou, Shampoo, Cologne, and Nabiki all have no motive to help
Ranma kill Akane to be with Kodachi. So who was this person
who was going to 'cover things up'?"

Gos woulda been an obvious suspect here....

	"Good question," Ryouga growled.

"Also, why would Ranma vanish, come back, kill Akane,
and vanish again - all without taking Kodachi with him? And
why hadn't anyone noticed Ranma and Kodachi getting close?"

"Because it's one of those fanfic things! Like Ranma actually having
red hair, or Ukyo being his best friend!" :)

Ryouga blinked. "I think it was something like, 'Here,
could you give this to the cute psycho'."

I nodded. "Ayup. Not Kodachi, the cute psycho."

OK, but why pick Ryoga, of all people, to deliver the thing? It's a
miracle the letter didn't end up in Sapporo. And if he'd read it and
known who it was really to, the plan would've been ruined.

(Over-analyze? Why, yes, I do sometimes. Why do you ask?)

I shrugged. "Depends on how you look at it. She went up to
the roof with her bunny, uncorked the bottle of Akaneiinchuan
she got from Cologne, poured, and pushed."

Any reaction from Shamps on this? I'd think she'd be mighty put out
with Cologne for helping cover up Ranma's escape.

In retrospect, I prolly shouldn't have posted this right after a
Akaneiichuan thread. You lot are sharper than I figured... most people who
wrote hit the nail right on the head.

Well, that means it was a good mystery. A bad one is one where you
read the solution and say, "WHAT? How were we supposed to have guessed
THAT?!"

But the real puzzle here is: WHERE WAS HIROSHI while his cohort was
out proving that even detectives sometimes don't score? :)
