Now then. What I think happened was: Ranma and Akane decided to run
away together, but they didn't want people to follow them. So they
asked Cologne to obtain for them some of the water from the
Akane-niquan created by Kima in vol. 38. This they used on Nabzy's pet
rabbit, which they killed, thereby faking Akane's death. Kuno-chan
overheard Ranma arranging for Nabs' help in this, and misunderstood.

As for Kodachi's note, at first I thought it was written to Akane and
indavertently got into Kodachi's hands later. But seeing that Ranma
actually asked Ryoga to give it to her, I'd guess that it's a sort of
red herring with which Ranma is trying to (further) mislead any
potential pursuers.

I think we have a winner, ladies and gents. Of course, we're neglecting
the simple solution that this is all a deep dream of Daisuke's caused by
eating pizza after midnight and watching USA Network, nevermind the fact
that there is no USA Network in Japan, I still think it makes perfect
sense!
