This probably qualifies as spam so I appologize now, but this struck a cord
in me.

Anyway what I would like to point out that you have a near inherent flaw in
your statement.  You said you would like to see other matchups...but you
only state the main character.

Why does it have to be the main character and some other character?  Why not
a couple of the side characters? You have a much greater freedom of play, as
most of the time the side characters are not nearly as in detailed as the
main one.  So you can make up more stuff as you go along...allow your
imagination to run wild!  After all isn't this what this is all about?
