Yes, it was deliberately written that way. Notice that it still gives
you that feeling even though you don't know who the mystery character
is.

Exactly. Does it really matter who the character is? No, because I
didn't use anything in the story that was specific to that character.
And while it's true that some characters are eliminated by certain
lines in the story, it could easily be tweaked to fix that.

Okay, So what was the point of all this? It's that an original matchup
doesn't make an original story. The kind story I wrote here might have
been original once at a time when Ranma/Akane was the only game in
town, but by now it's the same old same old. That's true whether the
character in the story is Kasumi, Kima, or Kermit the Frog.

In other words, it's not WHOM you match up in your story that matters,
but HOW you do it.

Thanks to all of you for sending your *very* interesting guesses on
who the character was in this story. No, I'm not going to tell you the
answer, but thanks for playing. :-)
