More important than the ML lag in this case is HUMAN lag.  I cant speak for
others, but I for one don't camp out in front of my e-mail box 24/7 waiting
for mail.  (it just SEEMS like I do ^-^; )  Most of the time, I leave my
computer set on automatic, and it logs on every four hours or so and gets
everything for me.  Then I read it when I have time, and unless I have to much
time on my hands, it tends to go out in the next mail batch.  This seems to be
rather common in the circles I move in, and is much more important in
explaining delays in responses than any lag at the server end.
