Subject: [FFML][TEASER] Ranmaniichuan--any takers?

Many apologies for the spam (at least it's garnished this time).

       I have the damndest idea about a spring where those who fall in
become Ranma. In other words, they come out looking like him, with his 

voice

and martial arts abilities. 

       What I have so far:

       ANYway, He gets drowned in an un-cursed spring, and creates the
Ranmaniichuan. Along comes a thief, and he falls into the spring mere
minutes after Ranma drowns. 

       Now from here, it could go one of two ways, IMO. I first saw 

this as

a Darkfic. The thief inherits some of Ranma's memories, and decides to 

fit

into Ranma's life to see just what he can gain from it. People notice 

how

strange he's acting, and finally put together the awful truth...

       The other way is something funny/silly. Not only does the body
change, but the soul does as well. The one cursed to be Ranma could be 

just

about any poor schmoe. I don't know what kind of chaos could ensue, but 

it

could be hilarious.

       OR, the poor schmuck could gain Ranma's looks, voice, and 

martial

arts abilities, but none of the memories. He/she has no clue why he's 

being

chased by a bunch of crazed martial artists.

Of course, in order to really keep up the lighter tone, Ranma wouldn't 
have to die, then.  Remember, there is an Akaneniichuan.  Suppose the 
Guide rescues Ranma after the Spring's been imprinted with Ranma, and 
the victim comes along after the Guide is busy?  Now you've got two 
Ranmas running around, and it's the faux Ranma who would get back to 
Nerima first, since the real McCoy is recovering from nearly drowning.

Now here's an additional catch:  Suppose the new spring "decides" that 
the SoDG Curse is part of that-which-is-known-as-"Ranma"?  (Thus, a 
first splash of cold turns "X" into Ranma-kun, while a second splash 
turns him into Ranma-chan, whereupon it would actually take two 
splashes, or one immersion, to go all the way back.)

Or maybe because Ranma was already cursed, "X" simply goes back and 
forth between the two Ranma bodies, with no opportunity to get his own 
body back except with a full cure of the Ranmaniichuan Curse.

And once the real Ranma gets better, he goes ahead and gets rid of the 
SoDG Curse before returning home?  Now, the fake Ranma has the one thing 
that would normally work as a final proof of the real Ranma's 
authenticity, so everyone else assumes that Ranma's the fraud.

Just thought I'd add a little mustard.  Unfortunately, I have no 
abillity to take this any further myself, right now.
