I've been trying to figure out what bothers me about this story.  It 
isn't outright bad but...

Maybe it's the magic.  Magic is a cheap way of resolving interpersonal
issues.  Generally speaking any attempted use of it to solve problems in 
the actual series would horrendously backfire.  Somehow this all just 
seems too simple a way to resolve Ranma and Akane's problems with each 
other.  On the whole I prefer using magic to cause problems, not solve 
them.
