Quoth the Lawson, on Jan 4, 1999:
I know, I know. Every time someone sees something new, they go
"Hey! Wouldn't it be neat to cross that over with Ranma 1/2?"
and rush off to write a fanfic. Yes, I despair slightly whenever
I see that. Yes, I've just done it myself.
Not such a bad thing, many good works of fiction have come from a random
crossover.
This is obscure. I expect less than ten people to figure out the
crossover or even know what the heck I'm talking about. :) What
the heck; I had fun writing this up.
Funny, as I read this I was thinking back to when you wrote Earthlier
Happy. Didn't actually think you'd crossed over a Square game again
though, but really, Square puts top notch stories into their games, why not
treat them as Anime? The Animation from PE was obviously Animesque.
Then something shot out from somewhere nearby and seemed to
explode over him, a ball of green radiance. The light rays
immediately died out, and it took all of Akane's willpower not to
collapse.
I *believe*, I'm not sure, that all of the PE attacks used by Aya are
reddish in color.
A young woman, in her early twenties, was walking towards them.
She was Western, with shortish blonde hair, and about Akane's
size. She wore jeans and a black leather jacket. She was lithe
and graceful as she walked, but with an assuredness that reminded
Akane a little of Ranma.
Heh, I figured out what you x'ed over here. I just needed her to say her
name to confirm it.
Dr. Maeda sighed. "Unfortunately, this was just the beginning.
The mitochondria have begun to awaken all around the world.
Detective Brea herself barely contained an outbreak at the
Metropolitan Opera."
Now, interpretation is a big part of most Square game, thus many people
get different ideas at the end of each game. I think this interpretation
of the ending sequence of PE is likely, considering that everyone thought
it was over in the book and it turned out they were wrong, but I have a
different view of Aya, Maeda, and Barre-- uhh, sorry, Dennis standing up in
the theatre with their eyes glowing. I more believe that after Aya
defeated Eve, the Eve type maniacal mitocondria became extinct and Aya's
mitochondria began to infect the general public. Like evolution. To
protect themselves against the Eve type mitocondria, everyone aquired the
Aya type mitochondria.
Like I said, its just my interpretation...
Fun story.
Cool game, btw. And I really like Detective Aya brea. Lara
Croft, move over.
I never understood what people saw in Lara. Aya is much sexier... uuhhh..
from a computer graphics standpoint of course! What?! Why are you all
backing away from me?
