I thought this would be a fun way to kick off the new year.

**********************IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMNET***************

We have just received word that an explosion on the far side of the
moon is now pushing the moon out of orbit at an extreme speed. We have
received word from the moonbase, that they have survived the explosion
and are just shaken. Due to the speed, both Space Command and Alpha are
unable to enact an evacuation. Scientists now are predicting what
effect the loss of the moon means to Earth's environmental structure.
They are also predicting on where the moon will end up. In two days the
moon will pass through the Alpha Centauri system. If the moon has not
slowed down by that time, Alpha will be unable to move anyone off the
moonbase. If the moon does retain its present speed, it will traverse
the galaxy in five years.
*************************END ANNOUNCEMENT********************

This has been a Space:1999 spamfic. Yes, all those scientific errors
were part of the show.

No, no, NO!
This doesn't happen until September 13th. C'mon, get it right... :)

Cheers,
Angus
