Maybe it's the magic.  Magic is a cheap way of resolving interpersonal
issues.  Generally speaking any attempted use of it to solve problems in

 I agree in principle( that magic shouldn't solve interpersonal problems,
that is), but this story is barely off the ground yet, I see many problems
on the horizon here. If I can see some problems their new situation can
cause (look at the social dynamic that's being disrupted by this) I'm sure
that David has at least a few in mind as well.
 Also, I didn't see any problems solved yet, R + A are still in a kind of
shock, they're not really comprehending the full impact of what's happened
yet.
 I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with this, it's a fairly novel
idea really....
