But seriously Even though its called Comments and Criticism it does
not mean that its a free pass to some of you out there to go ahead and
shoot some one in the back of the head.

I hear you! I've gotten some *nasty* comments... without a suggestion
of what to fix... I've *also* gotten nasty comments *with* a suggestion of
what to fix (for which I'm grateful).

On the other hand C&c sometimes is ineffective since when a fic goes
out in the ffml it already went though a thorough pre-reading by the
authors pre-readers and if i want an idea or if i would like to add
incites for the fic, well its already too late.

It's *never* too late! (at least for me) The FFML (as I understand it)
exists to get commentary on stories, so nothing posted here should
be considered cast in stone... That's what RAAC is for.

And authors themselves
ignore the C&C themselves.

As an author, I can chose not to implement changes suggested by
C&C if I decide to, but I will consider everything I get. In the C&C
for a story I recently posted, for example, most people *liked* my
characterizations (I even got praise from more than on
respondent)... But one person *hated* it for one character. So, I
will look at the offending characterization, and I *do* want to fix it,
but what of the people who *liked* what they saw? It's a tough call...

Just because *your* C&C is not reflected in the final product does
*not* mean it was ignored... And its impact may not be as plainly
visible as you might think...

C&C i think is a two way street and this supplement to the FAQ would
benefit a lot of people out there. 

Yes... This FAQ is a very good idea!
