Merry Christmas

Chapter 1: Wherein The Plot Thickens Mysteriously


	She stood, in perfect battle stance, in the middle of the pool of light.
	"I won't let you get away with this, brother!"
	From the darkness came a chuckle.  "Oh, but sister dear, I already have."
	Her head jerked up in surprise.  "What?" she said, quietly.
	"Yes, my dear sister, I have all that I need to build it.  All I have left to
do is to put it together!"
	"Oh my god..."  She shifted back into battle stance, and this time, she spoke
clearly and loudly.  "Brother, you know I must stop you."
	"I expected you to say as much."  The voice spoke several words in a strange
language and the lights went on.
	Surrounding the girl was hundreds of black-clad things.  They all looked like
men, but something, at the back of the mind, insisted that these were not
human.
	Her lips mouthed a word and she began to chant something in the same language
as her brother had used earlier.
	In a burst of light, the entire block went up.

		*** *** ***

	The police were confused.  In the center of an explosion lay a girl, who had
somehow managed to survive without a scratch.  But that was not the weirdest
part of it...
	"Now, you wanted to talk to me?"
	"Yes, chief.  You know that Christmas Party massacre that happened
yesterday?"
	The chief of police nodded.  It wasn't, after all, like he could have
forgotten.
	"Well, those corpses from that explosion look to be from the same group that
pulled it off..."

		*** *** ***

	What does this girl and her brother have to do with the slaughtered Christmas
party?  What are those things that she blasted into 'the next dimension'?  Who
is she?
	These questions and more will be answered sometime later in the series!

	The next part will be out tomorrow, and I won't be revealing what series are
going to turn up then, either.  There probably won't be noticeable plot
advancement in the next part, too.
	Anyway, there are three plot threads planned: the girl and her friends who
are out to stop her brother, the police who know something about what the
girl's brother's plot is but not about the girl's brother, and a band of magic
users who are out to stop the girl's brother but don't know what he's doing
(other then it's evil).
	Any (good) C&C is appreciated, offers of help are wanted, and flames shall be
deleted.
