1.  Does anybody have an idea about the ages for Brock and Misty?

You could always go by their heights. :)

I would say that Misty is about a year older than Ash and Brock is at
least 16 considering how he acts around girls.

2.  Does anyone have four or five US cartoon shows that they consider to
be an American Anime, or as close as we can get over here?  My four are:

Depends on what you are using for your critique.  Storyline complexity?
Animation quality?  Both?

b.  Gargoyles; seasons 1 and 2 (the jury's still out on 'The Goliath
Cronicles, though)

I wasn't impressed by what I saw of the Goliath Chronicles.

c.  Exosquad (If you ever saw 'Fall of the Neosapien Empire, you've seen
one of the greatest endings on a US series ever)

Arg!  I never got to see the beginning of that series.  So annoying.

I would include 'The Real Ghostbusters' (the seasons before all the
Slimer nonsense -- I couldn't stand that stuff even when I was a little
kid).  Anyone remember the episode where the guy tried to start Ragnarok?

I also might say certain episodes of X-Men and Spiderman.  I can't stand
the way they do the animation at times, however.  It's not so much
repeated animation as repeated animation where the background is
completely wrong.  That and the still frames that get stretched
(time-wise) and you can see the pixels.  Bleah.

And digging -way- back into my memories, I still think some of the
original G.I. Joe episodes were great.  (Anything after (and including)
when Sepentor is created is junk as far as I'm concerned.)
