Jennifer looked out the window, watching the carolers fight each other to the
death. She wasn't that surprised, of course. The Martial Arts Caroling
Tournament had been announced several weeks ago.
Of course, not all of the carolers were taking part in the tournament.
Earlier there had been this really short girl with long red spiky hair singing
something in Latin. Jennifer's best guess was that the song was Jingle Bells,
but she'd be the first to admit that her grasp of dead languages was tentative
at best.
In the same group there had been a blond who was happily singing away. What
she was singing, only she knew, but it sounded like "Jingle Santa The
Snowman."
And, of course, there were two girls -- apparently named Ryoko and Akeya --
who started out getting along, making Jennifer's hopes for a bunch of normal
carolers rise, who started fighting with the traditional cries of "You're
flat!"
In another group, some girl with a really flat chest had reacted to being
told that with a yell of "Dragon Slave!" and a pretty good magic-based
attack...got itself the full 10 points.
Remembering what she was supposed to be doing, Jennifer looked away from the
window, and picked up her score pad with attached pencil.
<Let's see...I think these two are called Kakarott and Vegeta...I'll give
them both ten points for the attacks, but Vegeta's right - Kakarott was off-
key...probably he's a natural tenor, but he shouldn't be singing baritone...>
