Minna,
First of all I dedicate this fic to my oneesan, I also would like to send
this as a Christmas present to all of my fellow list members or as a
Hanukkah present if you guys are Jews.

Kasumi woke up as usual, it was a start of another typical morning for
her. She got up from her bed, took a bath and went down to prepare
breakfast. "Maybe some Rice and vegetable tempura." she thought as she
entered her kitchen.

Now everyone in Nerima assumed that Kasumi was unaware of her
surroundings. In almost all parts of the earth that fact would have held
truth, almost. But in her kitchen Kasumi was the goddess, in this realm
she knew every inch and every particle, one step into her realm and she
realized at once that something was amiss. She looked around and she saw
an intruder to the sanctity of her kingdom.
"Ranma?" she asked as she stared unbelievingly at the petite redhead who
was guiltily hiding something she made behind her back. Something that,
judging from the mess Kasumi was seeing, appeared to be a complicated
vegetable salad. "Ranma, what are you doing here? And why are you female?"
The redhead in question blushed as red as her hair and murmured something,
something to Kasumi's acute hearing resembled something like "busted."
Ranma then shook her head and brought out the bowl she tried to hide behind
her, on it was a vegetable salad arranged in an artful and orderly manner,
a masterpiece that any chef would have been proud to call his own. "I
heard that today was your birthday Kasumi." the redhead began, talking in a
slow manner as if choosing her words carefully. "So I made a little
something for you." Kasumi smiled as she gently took the bowl from
Ranma's hand and with the same gentleness laid it on the dinner table, she
sat on the porch overlooking the koi pond then motioned Ranma to sit beside
her. "I appreciate the gesture Ranma, I never would have imagined that you
of all people would do something for my birthday." Ranma shook her head
and slowly replied. "You know I'm an only child, that I've never
experienced the love of an older sister, heck, I've even forgotten how a
mother's love felt like ever since I left on that stupid training trip. My
life, chaotic as it is had only one constant factor, that was you Kasumi.
You were and still are a kind soul, even to undeserving slobs like Oyaji
and me. You treated me as part of the family when all that I ever gave in
return was mess, after mess, after mess. Anyone would be lucky to have you
as a sister, your children would be luckier still to have you as their
mother. This is a small token of gratitude, from me to you." As Ranma
finished she looked up only to be greeted by the sight of Kasumi's tear
streaked face, she sighed thinking she had botched up again until she felt
Kasumi hugging her. "Thank you, that's the sweetest thing anyone ever said
to me." she said in between sniffles. Ranma smiled and returned the hug,
"No, thank you Oneesan."
They stayed like that for some time until the silence was broken with an
angry growl. "Raaaanmaaaa, what do you think you're doing with my sister,
you pervert?"
came the angry battle cry of Akane as she hefted her uru mallet. Ranma
backed away from Kasumi and tried to shield herself from the beating she
was sure was going to follow. "Akane, I can explain..."she began, but was
cut short as she was sent into the air courtesy of Akane Tendo's famous
swing. Unnoticed was Kasumi sneaking back to the kitchen, with a smile on
her face, yes, it is another day.
