Ouch!  I was thinking about doing a S.I. fic myself but now I'm not so
sure.  In the rough copy I am inter mingled with the cast and the story
does NOT revolve around me, but still...  I am going to finish it
though.  Ouch.....

I think the best point of the essay was not to make the SI character
too perfect.  And one has to be brutally honest about whether the SI
character is "too good" or not.  I completely agreed with the author's
predicted counter-examples of "s/he's not perfect becuase...".

I would suggest that if you were to write up a character description,
and it came to over a *single paragraph*, the SI character has too much
unecessary background and/or abilities.  You could probably write
descriptions of the *main* characters of the series in less space!

Admittedly, you may be making up for "lost time".  Existsing characters
have had lots of time for their history, character designs, and special
attacks (whatever) to be described.  But if you try to make up for the
"lost time" in the fic, you'll undoubtedly be focussing on the SI character
too much.  Let the details fill in over time.
