I'd be tempted to try, but I have no illusions that my meager abilities 
would do this 'fic or any sequel any justice. So if someone does

Only one minor nit with an otherwise excellent fic- and not even that 
much of a nit, but an observation - perhaps a bit more of Asuka's shift 
in mindset, showing us more of her view of Shinji fighting for her. 
Perhaps something along the lines of Asuka realizing (or admititng to 
herself) that there was someone out there willing to sacrifice their 
own life for her - and most likely going to die as a result.

After all, Asuka had forged around her that air of confidence, that she 
could trust no one but herself, and here comes Shinji, sacrificing his 
own life for her's. Selfless bastard that he is  ^_^

Other than that, a most excellent fic. Hope that there are more like 
this in the future.
