Hello

I've been flamed, and had C & C also. Also a lot of "I like it" or "I
hated it" one liners.

All are welcome.

People on the list have the right to like or hate, and writers have to
learn to be thick skinned. I understand that a lot of us would like
to turn pro, and if we can't take criticism from this group, then what
happens the first time your manuscript comes back to you with "don't
quit your day job" written on it?

As far as putting the shoe on the other foot....

I tend to send short notes (privately more than publicly) about what I
like or dislike about a story. Detailed C & C - only once in a while,
except for the people I preread for. That's because, for me, it's a
HUGE job. I go over every sentence, every piece of punctuation, and
try to leave nothing out. These always go privately.

I hope that people will think about the issue, and do the right thing.
