Born Yesterday

Chapter 1


	It was a quiet day in Manchester, Alabama.
	The breeze only ruffled the leaves, the super villains were taking the day
off to enjoy the abnormally warm weather, and so Bart Allen was bored out of
his mind -- nothing new for him.

	The girl, now wearing some undies under her now semi-translucent lab coat,
was running faster then she had ever ran before.  Vaguely, she knew that that
was easy, what with her being only an hour old.
	She had started out, after escaping from the lab, reading every book she
could get her hands on.  She managed to teacher herself Japanese, English, and
German in her first half hour of life.  She then decided that she was bored of
learning languages, and decided to spend some time running around.

	It was mostly luck that Bart spotted the girl.  He spent three nanoseconds
considering if he should tell Max, and then followed the girl.
	Luckily for the girl, Max also saw her when she passed.

	An hour passed.
	The girl was starting her early teens, and people were joining in the
chase...

Chapter 2


	The mad scientist quickly gathered his wits.
	Obviously, he was going to need help...and, as his mother always told him,
it's always best to tell the truth...

	"...Pilaf!  Found something that'll interest you!"

	"Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?"
	"But Brain, where are you going to get a doughnut that large?"

	"Julia!  Get the helicopter ready!"

	"You found what?!?!?!"
	There was a hint of a sigh in Oracle's reply.  "I said I found a post on a
BBS for super villains out to take over the world asking for help catching a
biologically engineered meta who so far has exhibited super-speed..."
	Of course, there was still a level of stunned silence -- partially because
the JLA was still not quite able to accept that a super villain who was smart
enough to create such a meta would be so stupid.

	Here's the first two chapters.  Any advice on how to expand it (I need more
megalomaniacs!) or mistakes made in characterizations will be loved.  (Flames
won't be minded, too.)
	A list of who made cameos in the 2nd chapter will be sent to anyone who asks
for it.
