I disagree. Police have to analyze situations, interview people, handle
combat, and more. Cooks - except for top-of-the-line (if she was that
good, Nerima's top restaurants would likely be begging Kasumi to work
for them) or bottom-of-the-line (like Akane) - usually just follow
recipes, which are extremely similar to computer programs. That Kasumi
can follow these recipies better than most, and adjust food to taste (a
sense that can be - and, in fact, is now being in some research labs -
simulated by machines), is a testament to her skill but not proof
against robotic competition.
That's one possibility for continuing this - Kasumi tries to become
something else to please Kiyone. Alternately, she could try to learn to
kill in order to bump off Mihoshi - and thus gain Kiyone's approval,
just before Kiyone arrests her for being a cop killer.
