I also have an idea in the meantime for a NGE fic..what if When Ikari Yui was absorbed into Unit 01, Gendo didn't turn into a cold bastard? What if he became a religious fanatic, convinced his wife's soul was a holy sacrifice for the sake of the world? What if the NERV people were members of a pseduo-scientific religous cult? What if Shinji was an athiest? It's called, 'Neon Genesis Evangelist"..lemme know what you think..has anyone else ever thought of this?
