The above sounds like Pluto's picking and choosing the course of 

history,

to make things come out the way she wants them to.

 And, unfortunately for the author, that's NOT what Pluto is there for. 

The point wasn't to explain why Pluto was picking or choosing, simply to
show that Pluto had some reason behind her actions.

 She died because she froze time. That is the death penalty for her; 
but the thing is she couldn't stand by and watch everyone die when 
Diamond smashed the two silver crystals (the one from her time and the 
one from the past) together. 
 Pluto deserved this fate because she was playing God with the 
timeline. Had she not acted, however, the Black Moon's siege of Crystal 
Tokyo would have been very successful-- but that still doesn't excuse 
her Goddom. 

It should be pointed out that this only hapened in the manga. In SMS Pluto
stops time so that Uranus and Neptune can escape... at least that's what I
think she did.

Ahem.  In additon to this, the source of the feud was (to me at least),
clearly set out in ToYJ...  namely and specifically that Younger Jupiter
blames Pluto for a great deal of the suffering she went through as a

child, in

and off the feeling that Makoto would have been there for both her daughter
and her granddaughter in their times of tragedy except for the fact that

Pluto

told her that she couldn't...  a "this must happen" sort of thing.  I most
certainly would not see YJ becoming the person she was portrayed as, nor

being

as effective in what she had to have done, if she hadn't been through what

she

had.

You raised some good points as well about Sakuya's anger. And your correct
about YJ not being as effective, look what happened when Misako made the
choice to stay in the past. A driving point was duty, wether to hide her
emtions behind or to numb the feelings she was having. Once she recognized
what was happening she did start to relax, or she would never have gotten
married in the first place.

My, doesn't the fur fly when an author dares to leave something unclear,
unexplained, undecided or *gasp of horror* not making sense because of an
unexplained reason that can't be said but if it was would make what
happened make total sense. ^_^

Well it was a significant mystery. Actually I think it surprised both Will
and I. We figured there would be cries of outrage about Serenity instead of
Pluto not telling why she did what she did.

I found myself in a love^2-hate relationship with this story.  In depth
writing on the day to day lives of little girls is not vastly entertaining
to me, and at some points the story was annoyingly and almost
overwhelmingly sappy (well-written and entertaining, which just made it
worse :).  I must say at least once I started paging down to get past such
a section.

You aren't the only one with that reaction. I think it was in response to
complaints that we weren't focusing close enough on the title character of
the story in previous works, which we still disagree with. ^_^ We don't
ahve a lot of action in our stories, at least not in the physical violance
sense.

That being said, the story is on my list of alltime favorite raves.  The
ability to build suspense, to keep the reader coming back for more, and
leaving us on the edge of our seats actually caring about what happens
(this is Sailor Moon, the anime American otaku love to hate, right?  Just
don't ask me how many tapes of fansubbed and raw SM I have in my possession
or ask me why I like SM - I'm not sure I have any answer that would make
any sense ^ ^) makes this a masterfully written and addictive story.  As
much as I dislike not knowing all the why's and wherefore's, I am eagerly
looking forward to reading more stories in the fascinating alternative
universe that these two authors have created.  I know a story is incredibly
well written when I start losing the ability to remember if a character

>from it was in the original or not.  And several characters in this story

most definitely fit that bill.

Thanks, that certainly a unique take on the story. Character development is
our strength, at least we think it is. We do try to make them real and make
the reader have some type of opion about them. Part of the reason we don't
put in all the why's and wherefore's is simple writting style. That and a
conscious choice to hold back certain piece of information. In regards to
Pluto we typically dislike explaining her actions.

Definitely looking forward to more!  And kudos's on finishing!  Many of the
greats still remain to be finished.  Which reminds me, what happened to MASN?

Thank you very much. We didn't expect this to turn into such a large
project so we're happy to see several people stuck with us and read that far.
