Did you miss a part? I'm afraid not. Serenity's face of with Pluto would
run along the lines of: 

Serenity: "Pluto, was this really necessary?
Pluto: "Yes,"

Several minutes later Pltuo being rather evasive and Serenity not being to
pushy about it would thank Pluto and then think everything was just fine.
We do have a reason, and it's a good reason as far as Pluto's concerned and
if Serenity knew what it was I'm sure she'd agree. 

There's also a more profound reason why we didn't explain Pluto's action in
this story rather then just leaving them as being "Pluto's way". The reason
is, this story changed constantly. Kimeko's reason for going back into the
past changed 3 different times, so did Serenity's invovlement. Bascially we
didn't know any concrete reason until late in the story. By that time we
had decided to cap the story size at where it was. If you desperately want
to know the reasons behind Pluto's actions I'll explain privately.
