Maybe Shinji was thinking of her when he unmerged. So he
dragged her out. Maybe this time Gendo prayed for her return
as Misato prayed for Shinji's. Maybe his mother had Hibiki
blood and it took her this long to find the way out.
    It doesn't really matter why she escaped  just what
happens now. Shinji hates and fears his old man, he loves
and adores his mother. Now she wants him to come home and
live with THEM.
    That also leaves the problem of his half sister Rei.
    Also what about the suit, without his mother in the
suit, is Shinji as effective a pilot or maybe he's more
effective now, then before or maybe the suit won't work at
all without a human soul bound in it. hopefully these and
other questions will be answered in the next part of the
fic.
