Don't know why I am writing this. I think it's temporary sanity.

working
with. Do not be surprised if any last names sound familiar.
Help, Kami-sama!

Sounds like the children of Together Again meets Doom.... but I would still
like to read more.
As to other things:
"Well, one never was able to really call us his man." Tense error... you
should say 'Call us his MEN'.
Second: Squadrons usually refer to mechanized units, like Tanks, Aircraft, or
Mecha. What youve described so far sounds like a bunch of foot solders, who
are normally grouped by Squads and Platoons.
"Okay, here's the plans. Nabiki, Nozomi, you stay on the ship and
coordinate
the teams. Chris, you take Izumi, Hitoshi, and that kid with the spiky hair
and check out the terrain around the colony. I'll take Ken, Osamu, and Ryosei
and see what's up in the colony. We will meet in the colony's guardhouse at
1900 hours."
I gave Yoshimasa a cold stare. "Lieutenant Son has a perfectly good name,
sir. I suggest you use it."
"Subcommander Chris, take them and get down on that planet!"<<
This sounds like very few people for a Platoon... or even a squad. Most
squads are made up of 2-3 fire teams of 4 people each, 3 squads to a platoon,
3 platoons to the company, etc. Also, If this guy is so gung ho military, he
should be using last names or callsigns. and most defiantly, when addressing
someone by rank you ALWAYS use thier last name. Period. And more backround
on what the Mime's are would be a good thing, since I for one have never read
the other stories that this ties into.
