It won't work. Aside from C.D.'s comment about holding the rights to
more than one franchise, Undocumented Features has much of it's humor
in the descriptions of things and momentary flashbacks. Without a
totally overbearing narrator, it just wouldn't be a funny. I still
can't figure out how Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy was a TV or Radio
Drama, since it suffers from the same problems, and since the chances
of me seeing or hearing either are nil, I never will.

HGtG worked fairly well as a radio series.
The narration parts were read by the same dude who voiced the book.
(Essentially, they took out the "he said"'s and read straight out of it.
[well, there was this minor change in the part where they knocked down
Arthur's house, but apart from that, it was pretty verbatim for the
first 90 min or so.])

I've got nothing to say about which fics should be illustrated/animated
because I can't recall offhand which ones would or wouldn't work as such.
There are probably some entirely forgetable fics that would, if done as
anime/manga, rank up with the best of them. (No, I won't name them. I've
forgotten about them too.)

I am surprised that no-one has done up a fic manga-style or commissioned
an artist to do the same, though.
