Yup, Hidden Fires is finally done. Yay! =^_^= Now, usually omake goes
at the end, but since I'm soo happy, I'm sticking it in the front.

Omake! Omake! - Outtakes from the filming of the series

Take 1

   ...Kusanagi whirled around, Momiji's limp body cradled in his arms,
and glared diectly in the direction of Kaede and the fading Susano-oh.
Through his tears he screamed at her, fury and grief fueling his voice
until it echoed throughout the remains of Tokyo:

   "Oh my Kami, you killed Momiji! You *bitch*!!!"

Wait... that's not it. Ah... here we go.

Take 2

   ...Momiji whipped her pistol out and aimed it directly at Murakumo.
"Where is Kusanagi?!?" she demanded. "What have you done with him?"
   "Kusanagi?" Murakumo stared down at her from his perch on the
streetlight and snorted in amusement.
   The young woman glared at him through her beginning tears. "Give
him back to me!"
   "Kusanagi... is dead."
   He smiled maliciously as she stood beneath him, stricken with
grief. "He was such a fool. We made him an Aragami, but even so he
turned against us...."
   Momiji couldn't hear his mocking words; rage and sorrow boiled up
in her until she exploded, screaming, "It's a lie! It's a LIE!
*KUSANAGI!!!!*"
   The Aragami stared at her with a smirk on his face as she fired her
gun on him blindly, then facefaulted.
   Out of the gun's barrel had popped a little red flag reading *BOOM*.

Dammit, that was the wrong ending. Let's try it again....

Take 2.5

   ...The Aragami stared at her with a smirk on his face as she fired
her gun on him blindly. He pushed off of the lamp, getting ready to
fly off-
   -then slipped and smashed his crotch into the smooth steel of the
streetlight with a sickening crunch. 
   Momiji twirled her oil can "gun" and blew imaginary smoke from its
tip as she watched Murakumo fall to the ground, clutching his now-flat
genitalia. "That'll teach you to mess with my Kusanagi," she said.

Now that I've disgusted you enough (what makes me think Aragami have
genitals? E-mail me to find out, kiddies!), on with the show!

Chapter 3: The Valley of the Shadow of Death

   "Everyone get out of here!" Matsudaira shouted, grabbing a syringe.
She crouched next to Kusanagi's still form, her knees resting in a
puddle of his blood. "I've got to have more room!"
   Kunikida took Momiji by the arm. "Come on," he said, "you can't
stay in here for this."
   "No way!" Momiji struggled in his grasp; Koume grasped her other
arm to keep her still. "I can't leave him!!!"
   "You can't do anything for him now!" The older man put an arm
around her shoulders and firmly guided her out of the room. "I'm
sorry, Momiji. We're just going to have to wait until..."
   The teenaged Kushinada nodded miserably before sitting down and
bursting into tears.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

   Matsudaira finally emerged from the infirmary over an hour later.
Her clothing was soiled with blood and a fine white powder seemed to
coat her arms. "Is Kusanagi all right?" Momiji asked eagerly, leaping
to her feet.
   She wiped a trace of sweat from her forehead. "Kusangi's fine; as a
matter of fact, I'll be releasing him tomorrow."
   Kunikida glanced over at her. "You mean you've cured him of that-
that illness? That fast?"
   Nodding, the scientist pulled two bags out of her pockets. "It's
amazing what a little Sevin Dust and Miracle Gro will do, isn't it?"


Gotcha. =^_~= You didn't *really* think I'd end it like that, did ya?
