Thanks to Bogue, I've figured out how to finish this.

			Akane's Defeat
			--------------

	Slowly, steadily, the figure crept along the rooftop.  Dark eyes
scanned the street below carefully, searching.  Then a widening.  Moving
to the edge, the figure held still, waiting for the exact moment to...  
the figure blurred in the early morning light, striking at another figure
running on the fence alongside the canal.
	"Ni-hao, Husband!"
	Ranma stumbled, then went limp as he was struck hard, smashing
into the path right in front of Akane.  He gasped out, "o-hai-yo,
sham-poo..."
	Akane barely paused before kicking out, knocking both of them
sprawling apart.  "Ranma, we are going to be LATE!"
	"Too-too violent girl, leave husband alone!"
	Ranma brushed himself off, then grinned.  "She's just jealous that
I beat her so easily the first day we met."
	Akane growled and chased a laughing Ranma the rest of the way to
school, neither noticing that Shampoo had yet to move after Ranma's words.
`Ranma beat Akane on the first day they met?  I didn't know...'  She
turned and ran off as fast the other two figures, a worried expression on
her face.

	Cologne laughed, instantly reassuring the Amazon warrior.  "<No,
child.  There is nothing to be concerned about.  First, Akane would never
ask to become an Amazon.  Second, Ranma defeated you as a girl before
defeating Akane, so even if she did ask, the council would rule in your
favor.  So, you have nothing to worry about with Akane.>"
	Shampoo sighed happily.  "<Thank you, great-grandmother!>"
	As Shampoo ran off again to deliver Ranma's lunch, Colonge's
expression darkened.  `It is best that she not know.  Akane's claim is not
the dangerous one, Ukyo's is.  Ranma defeated her when they were six,
years before he defeated Shampoo.  In either form.'
	She stirred the noodles slowly, considering.  `Not to mention,
Ukyo would have a better claim to join the Amazons than Akane.' She
carefully jotted down a note to herself to destroy any Amazon rulebooks in
Japan.  After all, why take chances?
