   Tinker to Evers to Chance to... all sorts of globe-hopping going
   on, and I keep reminding myself that this IS only a story, after
   all, and they don't need to spell everything out, and this is the
   Takahashi universe so things naturally WILL only get more
   complicated from here on in. But I find myself asking "Was this
   really necessary?", particularly when the only purpose of the trip
   was not accomplished and, indeed, even anti-accomplished.

Yes, it was necessary for them to go to Australia. One, Kang will be returning in some
form and this was his introduction. I had wanted to show him fighting, but that wasn't
posible in the scope of events for this chapter.

And, yes, the original reason for their trip turned out REALLY bad and just added to their
troubles.

But, the trip to Australia does have a MAJOR effect on the Ranmas and Akane's lives. The
big black monolith is a clue as to why they had to take the trip as far as the ongoing
story goes.
