RESULTS OF THE GAMMA TOURNAMENT PRE-RELEASE VOTING COMPETITION

I won't list every individual count, but this should be a good
guide to who's going in, who isn't, and a good last minute begging
check for any really innovative ideas I might've overlooked.
I got a lot of cool writeins which will be included (see below)
so you never know. But remember, I haven't played every fighting
game, and DEFINITELY have not seen much anime...

Please send all commentary to twoflowr@pixelscapes.com, NOT
TO THE ACCOUNT THAT SENT THIS LETTER. Thankee. :) Make sure
the title is something easy to identify as being gamma related.

-=-

Points were assigned in the following manner. Voting 1 for a
character gave them three points, voting 2 gave them two points,
and 3-5 gave one point. This allows for a hearty, difficult to
read imbalance which renders the poll moot, a highly useful tool
to any statistician who likes to make up their own figures. Any
character recieving a 0 vote got a little X tallied next to their
name.

And the winners are...

MOST POPULAR FIGHTING CHARACTER : Pinky and the Brain
in a Terry Bogard Android Suit
   45 points total, 2 X's.

...which means I'll probably not include them. Why? Because nobody
else even came CLOSE to getting 45 points, which means they'll just
swamp right through the competition like a steamroller! Ack. But
the idea is SO right. I may change my mind or include them in
an exibition, just to make sure they're used in some respect.

RUNNER UP FIGHTING CHARACTER : Dan! 21 pts, 2 X's.
(Evil Dan got 5 pts, 1 X. Omega Dan got 10 pts.)

Good to see a lot of support for the world's most useless and
easily breakable man! I'm hoping he'll have a strong turnout.
I won't say if I'll use either variation listed above, but you
never know...

LEAST LIKED FIGHTING CHARACTER : TIE- Parappa the Rapper
                                      Apocalypse

Both got a whopping five X's, yet oddly, Parappa also got 12
points and Apocalypse scored an respectable 6. So, odds are
I'll put both in, to please those who like them and piss off
those who don't. >:) Ah, I'm so evil...

OTHER NOTEWORHY FIGHTERS :
* Duke Nuke'm and Dirk the Daring scored enough interest
to merit inclusion in the tourney. Gotta love the D-dudes.
Besides, can you picture a fight between Duke and Solid Snake?
* Sakura scored nicely high; she'll probably be in too.
* Aya Brea also scored pretty well.. I might include her.
* The most interesting write-ins were FF7 characters, and a
good point was raised; if Rufus Shinra is hosting, why aren't
they on the ballot? Chances are high that some will make it
in... how does Yuffie and Cait Sith sound? :)
* Most amusing write in : Wallsmasher (Tyrant) from Resident
Evil 2. Woohah! Let's break stuff and scare you until you
  wet your pants!
* King of Fighters guys had a really poor turnout... don't expect
to see many of them. Other Beta guys who did badly included
  Vermillion, Remi, Popura and David.
* Waaaah! Devilot only got one vote, and one X! Screw you guys,
she's going in anyway. (sucks thumb and rocks gently)
* Hmm... apparently, nobody likes Mortal Kombat. :) Although Goro
did pretty well. It's the arms. Chicks dig the arms.

Moving on to Division #2...

MOST POPULAR ANIME CHARACTER : Lina Inverse (35 pts, 2 X's)

I'm not too surprised. I may or may not include her... if she's
going to be that dominant, it wouldn't be wise, but I'm torn.
I LOVE writing her, as my fanfic implies. :) We'll see when I
develop the final roster. Naga did respectably well, so if Lina's
in, she'll partner in too.

RUNNER UP ANIME CHARACTER : Tie: Washu, Skuld, Ryo-ohki (24 pts)

Cuteness rules, it seems. :) Chances are all three will be in,
and if Skuld's in, so is Banpei; they work as a team. Kagato
also would show up, just so Washu has someone to play off of
during the expository bits.

LEAST LIKED ANIME CHARACTER : Kenny (19 pts, 9 X's)

Wow! Violent bloody anger over this one! Of course, he did
net a whopping 19 pts. You know what this means... he's IN.
Definitely. Totally. Even if he probably isn't going to survive
round one out of sheer tradition...

OTHER NOTEWORTHY ANIMES :
* Hiroshi and Daisuke scored a 22! Wow! They're in. Now I just
need to figure out how they'll fight... but imagine the tag team
  possibilities!
* Mr. Fujisawa bagged himself a 23. Gotta love him. Alielle also
got high, with a 19, so the El Hazard cast should be well
represented... lacking Shayla, who got a wimpy nine. I forgot
  to include Jinnai.... hmmmmmmm.
* SPOOOOOON! The Tick netted 20. He's likely in, although he
probably won't steamroll... he got a few big votes, as opposed
to a lot of little ones.
* Nobody likes Ecchi Oni or La Blue Girl characters. Waaah.
* Gee, I wonder why nobody wants Sifl and Olly in. :)
* Most interesting write ins... Eva unit 01 (yikes!), Team Rocket
from Pokemon and Feathers McGraw, the evil penguin from Wallace
and Gromit's "A Close Shave." All of them seem worthy. :)
* Four people wrote in Gally, from Battle Angel... it's a good idea.
She'll lend a little dramatic / angsty flair to the event in
light of all the silly persons.

Okay, now the news you've all been waiting for... THE RELEASE
DATE OF MAGICAL TROUBLESHOOTING CROSSOVER FIGHTING TOURNAMENT
GAMMA'S INTRODUCTION AND ROUND ONE!

I have no idea.

Hey, I said going into this pre-release that nothing was certain. :)
But given the nice turnout, I'm definitely interested in continuing
the series. It will likely happen after I finish Slayers ReBirth,
just to keep my docket pretty clear and safe. I have an intro
written already, but that was from months ago and uses a lot of
characters I'm nixing here... so I'll just edit it a lot and
put in the new guys. NO FIXED RELEASE DATE. But thanks for your
support, and be ready to leap on Gamma when it comes out!

Signing out,

2f.
